Abstract This article evaluates, analyzes and compares the performance of WiMAX technology implemented in the frequency of 3.5 GHz link, performing quality tests and VoIP performance metrics such as throughput, RSSI and SNR using TCP and UDP traffic. In order to reach this goal, a point to point topology was developed between a base station located in the San José de Bavaria in the city of Bogota and a user terminal located at different distances from it, and under different scenarios. Additionally a validation of a theoretical model of deterministic prediction regarding the measurements was proposed. The results obtained are shown in this article.
