Abstract
PUGLIESE, Gisell and FORERO C, Germán A. MAINTENANCE COST OF HOUSEHOLD AND EXPANSION TIME OF THE CITY AS A DETERMINANT OR URBAN MOBILITY AND POVERTY. rev. econ. Caribe [online]. 2011, n.7, pp.213-230. ISSN 2011-2106.
This paper analyses the impact of the maintenance cost of household on the owner rents from a theoretical perspective, its deterioration and the owner's decision to move to another household. Through Marxist theory of land rent, it is shown that when the owner does not to pay the household maintenance cost, it generates a loss of the potential rents, which can be perceived by the owner. It causes an impoverishment of the household owner in two ways: the household obsolescence and/or their displacement to another household of lower quality.
