Abstract
ARIAS-RODRIGUEZ, Gina Marcela. NOTES ON A TRUTH COMMISSION FROM WOMEN. Rev. eleuthera [online]. 2018, vol.19, pp.186-209. ISSN 2011-4532. https://doi.org/10.17151/eleu.2018.19.11.
Objective:
This document presents some analysis on the methodological approaches, and devices that guided the project of the “Truth Commission of women victims of the Colombian armed conflict” developed by the Peaceful Route of Women.
Methodology:
We analyzed data derived from this Commission, the experience of those who work in this process and the bonds we built with women witnesses. The Commission’s project was addressed under the logic of action-research, non-extractive and collaborative work based on trust, which put women’s experiences at the center.
Results:
The continuum of violence experienced by women in contexts affected by the armed conflict and their capacities to resist and face adversity was confirmed.
Conclusion:
Among the main conclusions, it was possible to demonstrate the usefulness of the testimony in the emotional recovery processes of women, in the incidence in the negotiation process with the FARC-EP and the creation of the Gender Subcommittee. This is a project that has become a benchmark in the construction of truth and memory in the country.
