The theme is approached considering the crisis of capital and the forces of resistance at present. It places the Social Work in the division of labor, emphasizing the articulation between professional project and salaried work and tensions present there. The text presents a brief overview of inequalities and poverty in Latin America in a context of crisis and the challenges to Latin American Social Work. The education and research in Social Work have special emphasis, following the conclusions.
