Abstract

ARANGO, Angie Andrea; GALINDO CAICEDO, Jenny; REVELO CALVACHE, José Luis  and  SANTIAGO RIVEROS, Mónica. Selva Mater: environmental crisis and modern world, capitalism and energy, human development and spirit. Aleth. rev. desarro. hum. educ. soc. contemp. [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.1, pp.70-87. ISSN 2145-0366.

This article presents a reflection about the contemporary world environmental crisis, placing its attention at the economic, social and technological processes of transformation in the configuration of the modernity discourse. Through the modification of land uses as a market function and at the same time by a growing worry about the environmental conscience, it is argued that in effect, the earth does live climatic changes but not for a unique reason. The article evidences the linguistic treatment that pushes the global economy, permitting us to understand what we call a spiritual crisis.

Keywords : environmental crisis; sustainable development; energy; spirit; humanity; hegemony.
