Abstract
CAMARDA, Maximiliano. Road Infrastructure, Bridges and Roads in Entre Ríos (Argentina), 1893-1922. Historelo.rev.hist.reg.local [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.33, pp.182-211. Epub May 01, 2023. ISSN 2145-132X. https://doi.org/10.15446/historelo.v15n33.102064.
This article aims to analyze the road infrastructure in Entre Ríos (Argentina) during the work of the departmental commissions created in 1893, in order to establish how the construction and the process of centralization were set up until its weakening during the 1920s. The departmental commissions consisted of members appointed by the governors who planned, implemented and controlled the infrastructure projects. Most of them were "notables" in the area, with no specific training to that end. To achieve this aim, a series of documentation, departmental memoirs, Governors' messages, press reports and the Diarios de Sesiones de las Honorables Cámaras de Diputados y de Senadores [daily minutes of the sessions of the Honourable Chamber of Deputies and the Honourable Chamber of Senate] were consulted.
