Abstract

AGUILERA M, SOLEDAD  and  BOATTO, YANINA ELIZABET. Keep writing... keep learning: writing academic texts at the college level. Zona prox. [online]. 2013, n.18, pp.136-145. ISSN 2145-9444.

The production of academic texts involves discourse and communicative competences and certain cognitive processes, with which university students tend to have difficulties. Likewise, such difficulties are reinforced by instruction, since, generally, students are not guided during the writing process. In this article we aim to recover theoretical contributions about text production in academic genres, and on the basis of reflection on our teaching experience, offer some orientations for its teaching. Specifically, our suggestions focus on the learners' ability to carry out writing tasks taking into account the type of text requested, the explanation and grounds for the learning objectives, the personal goals for writing and the detail account of the processes implied. Aspects that should be developed in the context of collaborative work among peers and teachers.

Keywords : learning; teaching; writing; academic text.
