Abstract

MOLINA LARA, LUZ MARÍA  and  RADA ARTEAGA, KELLY JOHANA. Relationship between the level of formal thought and academic achievement in mathematics. Zona prox. [online]. 2013, n.19, pp.63-72. ISSN 2145-9444.

This research aimed to determine the relationship between the level of formal thought and academic performance in mathematics, of students of vocational middle district of Barranquilla. The correlational design had a sample of 196 students; 92 belonged to tenth and 104 to eleventh grade, aged 15 - 17 years. The test of TOLT and Vasco was used. A descriptive and statistical analysis was done by means of Pearson correlation using SPSS software. Authors found that these students do not have formal thought and that there is a significant positive relationship between the variables Formal Thinking and Academic Performance in Mathematics.
