Abstract
HERNANDEZ-GONZALEZ, Ángel Uriel; ECHEVERRI-PETTI, Luce Marina and CORTES-OLARTE, Gonzalo Andrés. Characterization, inclusion and participation of policewomen in Colombia. Analysis 1994 - 2021. Rev. logos cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.3, pp.8-19. Epub Nov 19, 2021. ISSN 2145-594X. https://doi.org/10.22335/rlct.v13i3.1445.
The results of the research on the characterization, inclusion and participation of policewomen in Colombia during the last 27 years are presented, analyzing the demographic data of 24,025 policewomen. A quantitative-descriptive design was used, of a non-experimental type with cross-section, from the analysis of institutional administrative records that rest in the Information System for Human Talent Administration (SIATH), extracted using the Oracle Discoverer software, organized from socio-demographic variables and explanatory-sequential criteria. The results show that, for the last decade, the National Police has been a pioneer in the change of paradigms, both in participation and in empowerment and professional and social recognition of women through the adoption of sustained practices of inclusion and participation, winning social imaginaries and false limitations imposed at the cultural level as far as sex-gender is concerned. This study is an initiative that contributes to the training of new generations of police officers, from which it is concluded that the police profession is not exclusively male.
