Abstract
ALZATE TORRES, Maria Camila and ESPINAL MONSALVE, Nora Elena. Study of the Characteristics of Domestic Tourism Based on the Origin-Destination Matrix. Ens. Econ. [online]. 2018, vol.28, n.52, pp.151-164. ISSN 0121-117X. https://doi.org/10.15446/ede.v28n52.72512.
Tourism has been traditionally established as one of the most important economic sectors that stimulate economic growth in developed and developing countries. Since there is only a reduced number of studies in Colombia that consider this sector on a national scale, it is crucial to investigate the behavior of domestic tourism flows, considering their importance in the demand for tourism services. Therefore, this work seeks to study the characteristics of domestic tourism in Colombia by constructing an Origin-Destination matrix with the data provided by the Survey of Internal Expenditure in Tourism (EGIT).
