This paper systematizes the teachers training experience intended to pedagogical research and practice, Political Education and Memory (FPMS) of Basic Education Degree with Emphasis on Social Sciences at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional. First, political education and social memory categories given by this research are shown. Second, the students' output is analyzed, and finally a balance of contributions by FPMS is given including its relationship with a teaching approach of the recent history and its potential for training teachers field during present times in Colombia.
