GRINBERG, Silvia Mariela. Education, biopolitics and governmentality. Between past and present: the current debate. Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2013, n.65, pp.77-98. ISSN 0120-3916.
This article presents the current debate on the connections between biopolitics and education - a debate which is strained between past connections and present connections. As a vital part of a society which sees itself as experiencing processes of change, and also wanting to create processes of change, novelty characterizes descriptions of the present day. In this context, we examine how the question of how we come to be who we are is linked to seeking the new within the new. This contributes to awarding a certain perspective regarding our present which eludes not only nihilistic images and/or images of catastrophe of our present, but also fatalisms which tend to damage ideas of the future. In education, various assessments show us the doublesided nature of this problem which involves the permanence of the crisis and its tragic end. The fulfilment of this state of the matter, which this article deals with, is as much orientated towards the question of the current state of the debate as towards the genealogical enigma of our present. This is how, through the outline we provide by means of the bibliography, we propose finding the points at which we are strained between past and future and thus establishing the outlines of a biopedagogy.
