This articles´s aim is to highlight the importance of primary care as the basic strategy for health provision. This paper analyses the Colombian health model and how it evolved historically until the emergence of the present neoliberal policies which need to be reformed regarding the convenience to consider the implementation of a Primary Care Health Model.
