Health professionals working in hospitals are exposed to various risks of accidents and occupational diseases and the handling of antineoplastic drugs is the main chemical risk to them. Thus, this study aimed to know the scientific production on nursing worker safety antineoplastic manipulation. This is a bibliographic study whose data collection was carried out through the titles and abstracts of scientific articles in the databases LILACS and MEDLINE, and electronic library SciELO in the period 1999-2010. As descriptors the following terms were used: antineoplastic (Antineoplastic Agents), Chemotherapy (Drug therapy) Biosecurity (Exposure to Biological Agents), Worker Security (Occupation health). All of them associated with Nursing. From the combination of descriptors 3418 articles were located, which after an accurate selection criteria 33 articles resulted selected for analysis. In this study we present the characterization of the studies found by type, year of publication, scenarios and most researched subject, as well as the resulting categories of content analysis, namely: worker safety in handling antineoplastic agents; health professionals; occupational risks, and biosecurity for health education. We conclude that it is essential nurses to participate in permanent education activities with nursing professionals, in order to avoid possible damage that might affect their health.
