The present study aimed to review the ScienceDirect database literature on ideation, behavior and measures of suicide in recent years. A survey was conducted with the words suicide, ideation and scale; and for processing, suicidal ideation, and suicide ideation scales rating, excluding studies that did not present suicide as their focus, and eschewing assessment measures, restricting to 176 items. The results revealed a predominant female sample, in economically active ages and several levels of schooling. On the objectives, it was a prevalent approach in the construct and its relationship with other variables: highlighting depression, chronic pain, hopelessness, ruminant and traumatic historical thinking, in addition to substance use, family and social support, socioeconomic status, sexuality and others. The Suicide Probability Scale, the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation and the Beck Depression Inventory Item were identified as priority measures in assessing ideation and/or suicidal behavior.
