Child psychological assessment is a dynamic process that involves the identification and analysis of different biopsychosocial characteristics associated with human development. In the context of grief, this process makes it possible to investigate risk factors for the development of complications, plan preventive actions, and contribute to the experience of grief. This article aims to present the qualitative research developed from the psychological assessment of two children in grief from the death of family members, which was discussed in light of the Bioecological Theory of Human Development. The relevance of the evaluation process and the adoption of this theory in the context of grief was noted, as it included the individual and contextual components associated with the losses, which can contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of children in grief.
