The mystery of the Eucharist is the root and source of Christian life, and therefore of the Church. It is the way found by Christ to fulfill his promise to be with us "always to the end of time" (Mt 28:20). By the Eucharistic Supper one enters into communion with Christ and also participates in the divine plan of universal salvation. The purpose of this article is to highlight how the missionary dimension of the Eucharist is ontological and crucial to the Christian life (AG 2). And as it is stated by Francis: "Missionary outreach is paradigmatic for all the Church's activity" (EG 15).
