Resumen

LAO-MONTES, Agustín. "No Human Being Is Illegal" - Newest Migrant Social Movements in the United States. univ.humanist. [online]. 2008, n.66, pp.273-300. ISSN 0120-4807.

This article discusses the massive migrant mobilizations in the United States during the spring of 2006, providing an analysis of their character and composition, their repertories of actions and discourses, and their historical-global meaning. By asking the question if these collective actions (whose actors are in the majority Latin trans-migrants in the United States) constitute a social movement, the text also uses various theoretical perspectives about social movements, at the same time as it formulates a proper analytical framework based on a study of the concept of anti-systemic movements. The work also introduces a perspective compared to Europe and discusses the ethical-political implications of the new migrant movement in the United States on the new wave of anti-systemic movements of the beginnings of the 21st century.

Palabras clave : anti-systemic movement; newest social movements; decolonialization of power.
