This article presents the results of a research project aimed at assessing changes in the understanding of math teachers about their classroom practices as a result of their participation around a series of learning experiences. The project was developed by the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) with the participation of ten math teachers. The qualitative study contrasted the theoretical propositions constructed around four aspects of classroom practices with the data obtained from the implementation of an "Experiment of Teaching Practices" which revolved around these aspects. From the experiment were designed and carried out learning experiences for teachers with activities such as: observation of practices, teaching experiments, analysis of various class records and mathematical tasks designed for the classroom. As results we found, for example, a significant advance in their perspective on the role of mathematical problems in the classroom or, the consideration of the role of questions and dialogues in the learning of the subject. Similarly, a minor advance in interpretation skills of the students in mathematical thinking and consequent decision-making was reported.
