Resumen

MARIN-OVIEDO, Gonzalo. Some Conceptions STSE of Students of Ninth Grade about Thermodynamic Concepts. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.49, pp.239-254.  Epub 05-Feb-2022. ISSN 0121-3814.  https://doi.org/10.17227/ted.num49-8645.

In the basic standards of competence from Colombian curriculum it is proposed to address the teaching of science from the approach science, technology and society (STS), but it is suggested from a reductionist way, so it is just considered the technical and scientific component, omitting even an environmental approach. Hence in some occasions the teachers have not used the approach adequately or it has not been taken into account, such as it has occurred in the DEHA school. Therefore, it is presented a proposal to articulate some concepts from thermodynamics with the science, technology, society and environment (STSE) approach, to identify some naive, plausible and adequate conceptions. These categories, of empiric nature, have already been used in standardized opinion tests of STSE. The methodology carried out was a case study, with a qualitative approach, in which opinions, answers and conceptions of ninth grade students about the impact that science and technology have on society and environment were described. It also described some learning difficulties related to the scientific concepts studied. The results showed reductionist conceptions about the technology, politics, and environment, with unfavorable attitudes towards the technology and favorable attitudes towards environmental aspects. In conclusion, it is relevant the formation of techno-scientifically alphabetized students so they can question benefits and harms, enter and hold debates or to propose solutions to different problems that affect them directly or indirectly on STSE issues, through proposals that the professor may develop.

Palabras clave : thermodynamics; relationships; attitudes and conceptions STSE.
