GRABENDORFF, Wolf. Triangular relations in a Unipolar World: Northern America, The European Union and America southern. anal.polit. [online]. 2005, vol.18, n.55, pp.3-19. ISSN 0121-4705.

Nevertheless, Latin American countries have been very aware of their limitations within the international system, mainly in relation to their alliances with other countries of the Third World which could challenge American conceptions, given their financial dependence, as much at the bilateral level with United States as in the multilateral level. At this point, it is clearly difficult to achieve support in the international financial institutions if the is opposed to it.
