Resumen
KAJSIU, Blendi. A SOCIO-MORPHOLOGICAL THEORY OF POPULISM: THE CASE OF URIBISMO (2002-2010). anal.polit. [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.90, pp.209-225. ISSN 0121-4705. https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v30n90.68561.
This article develops a theory of populism that combines the morphological analysis of ideologies developed by Michael Freeden (1996) with the sociological analysis of populism as a political project developed by Jansen (2011). Although both perspectives have contributed substantially to the analysis of populism, neither is sufficient in order to fully understand the populist phenomenon. This is why I argue that a combination of these two perspectives is necessary. In order to show the advantages of a socio-morphological perspective I analyze Uribismo (2002-2010) in order to show that we are not dealing with a populist project neither in terms of discourse nor in terms of social mobilization.
