ROJAS SIERRA, Johanna y MORENO SARMIENTO, Nubia. Producing and formulating a prototype biofertiliser from a native bacterial strain associated with rice (Oryza sativa). Rev. colomb. biotecnol [online]. 2008, vol.10, n.2, pp.50-62. ISSN 0123-3475.
Biofertilisers are products based on microorganisms involved in plants’ nutritional processes. As well as the microorganisms, the products’ formulation conditions must be improved for maintaining viability and stability during storage and in the field. This investigation evaluated formulation stability and viability; this was done by mixing an active ingredient (a nitrogen-fixing strain) humic substances, polyethylenglycol, Carbopol and chelates, in several ratios. Prototypes maintaining their viability for around 3 months were evaluated on rice crops in the field. Formulations were evaluated considering the applied dose (1 and 2 L/ha); one of these formulations (M = 8,500 Kg/ha) showed an increased beneficial effect regarding the controls (7,625 Kg/ha) in terms of rice crop yield. The results obtained in this work are promissory since they contribute towards increasing
