Resumen

MEDEIROS, Mário. The logic of competencies: Perspectives for Curriculum in Action. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.2, pp.1031-1040. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.14210210415.

The polysemy of the concept of competencies raises operational difficulties that can express themselves through results that contrast what is expected of work organization and the pedagogical practices that it guides. To achieve a more precise, limited and clearer understanding of this concept is only possible through visualizing the logical or theoretical/ methodological framework that it forms part of. This article is an attempt to contribute to the clarification of these references. The author uses the hermeneutics of suspicion and recovery to identify the distinct forms of logic that lead the concept of competencies to manifest itself in different practices. The study identifies the presence of behaviorist, functionalist and cognitive/constructivist logics within the concept of competencies, as well as the possibilities and limitations that they present. The author concludes by proposing the international socio-critical logic as a better alternative as it is more tuned in with educational proposals that are more democratic.
