Given the relevance of development and the early stimulation of Executive Functions (EF) among school children, the objective of this study was to determine if there is a statistically significant relationship between the Parenting Competencies (PC) of 31 parents of second-grade schoolchildren in Chile and their EF and Academic Performance (AP). The instruments used included the Positive Parenting Scale (E2P) and the Neuropsychological Assessment Test (Teni). The results showed that the parents who had developed their protective, reflective and formative PC had children with greater EF development. Regarding the correlation between PCs and AP, it was found that this only occurred in the subject area of mathematics. As a conclusion, the research identified that there are PCs that are related to the development of EF and to the AP of schoolchildren, especially in mathematics.
