Nursing is a discipline and science in construction with its own knowledge evolves independently of the other disciplines. This knowledge has been built in order to respond to the phenomena of interest and present problems in professional practice. However, despite the efforts of theoreticians, researchers and students of the discipline in the structuring of knowledge that supports the practice, this has not been sufficient visibility, but rather nursing professionals flock to theoretical and conceptual models other disciplines. This situation may be due to a lack thereof or lack of disciplinary training received during training. This indicates that schools and nursing programs, are called to mainstream teaching disciplinary component in the training curricula. For this they should review the different elements of the curriculum structure in light of trends in the discipline, profession and health services, and involve key players who develop the training process in order to respond to the needs health and welfare demanded by today's society.
