This article emerges from a process of institutional practice in Family Development with the aim of understanding the meaning of educational strategies to strengthen the family-school relationship, based on the Family Schools project: a scenario for the meeting located at the University of Caldas.

Methodology. Systematization of educational experiences, with a hermeneutical approach.

The result shows the meaning that the actors give to the educational strategies, developed in a family school process, as mediators for learning and the promotion of co-responsible actions between two primary actors in the formation of humans.

It is concluded, in an educational process aimed at promoting the family-school relationship, educational strategies are pedagogical devices that allow family participation in school, appropriation of content and dialogue between families and teachers.
