Resumen
HOYOS-VERTEL, Luis M. y MUNOZ DE RODRIGUEZ, Lucy. Barriers to antenatal women with severe maternal morbidity in Antioquia, Colombia. Rev. salud pública [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.1, pp.17-21. Epub 20-Oct-2020. ISSN 0124-0064. https://doi.org/10.15446/rsap.v21n1.69642.
Objective
This study seeks to describe the barriers to access to antenatal care in women with severe maternal morbidity, treated at a hospital in the city of Medellin, Colombia in 2017.
Methods
Qualitative, ethnographic study using the ethnonursing approach proposed by Leininger, and Spradley's ethnographic interview.
Results
Women with severe maternal morbidity consider that the health system does not guarantee access to health for them and their unborn children.
Conclusions
It is concluded that the health system, to which the women included in the study are entitled, is not available, which conditions non-attendance to prenatal care programs.
