Resumen
PUGLISI, RODOLFO. KNITTING BONDS: THREE SOCIO-ADAPTIVE MECHANISMS UNFOLDED BY THE SAI BABA MOVEMENT IN ARGENTINA. Rev. colomb. antropol. [online]. 2012, vol.48, n.2, pp.67-88. ISSN 0486-6525.
Once the main features of the institutional framework of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organization (OSSSB) -of Indian origin- are presented, as well as the history of the Sai Baba movement in Argentina is outlined, I present here what I call three socioadaptive strategies brought into play by the Sai Baba movement in order to favor the accommodation of their beliefs into the Argentinean socio-religious field, that is, I examine how symbolic bridges are built with the local cultural background so as to attain identification with the values of the recipient society.
Palabras clave : Sai Baba; religion; local accommodation of beliefs.
