After registering the foundation of the Instituto de Filosofía (1945) and the emergence of Revista Universidad Nacional de Cultura Moderna (1944) as recent history of Ideas y Valores it's shown that its beginning (1951) nourishes from them, and at the same time runs with the same destiny: being the target of political persecution by the conservative restoration. Halfway through the stumbles that this brings to the journal the significance of the organ that intends to replace it is assessed, Studium (1957-1960), whose disappearance would finally lead to the resurgence of Ideas y Valores (1963) after eight years of absence (1955-1962). It's also highlighted the figure of Cayetano Betancur both in its beginnings and in its recommencement in the third period of the journal.
