This paper is the result of an undergraduate thesis in History. It describes and analyses the Hojas Sueltas collection content, which is found at the main library of Universidad de Antioquia. The main goal is the presentation of this historical information source, which additionally constitutes a documentary patrimony due to its particularities. Firstly, this paper presents a summary of the way how Hojas Sueltas was collected and published in 19th century and the role of its compiler, Juan José Molina. Then, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of Hojas Sueltas is carried out as well as the description of its contents and cataloguing procedure. In addition, this paper makes a thematic description of Hojas Sueltas with the purpose of giving researchers an example that shows sufficiently the richness of the source. Lastly, it shows three topics (Religion, Politics, and Daily life) to illustrate the way social events were treated and related during the 18th century in Antioquia.
