This article exposes the philological analysis of editions of the novel Tarde de Verano (1980) by the colombian writer Manuel Mejía Vallejo, analysis that allowed the development of the critical edition of the aforementioned novel. The conceptual basis of this study are in the theoretical and methodological approach of textual criticism, an approach that guides the process of construction of all critical edition of literary texts. The emphasis of the analysis will be made from the initial stage of textual criticism: the recensio. Thus, an evaluative description of the mecanoscrit and issues used in the collatio and analysis of the types of variants found in this philological process will be presented, as well, their impact on the process of fixing textual critical edition of the novel of this important Colombian writer.
