Genetic resources of maize are important for breeding programs. From maize accessions of department of Magdalena-Colombia, a program of crosses was initiated under the soil and climatic conditions of Center Experimental of Agricultural and Forestry from University Magdalena located in Santa Marta, geographical coordinates 74° 07' Y 74° 12' west long and 11° 11' y 11° 15' north latitude yand 2 meter above sea level (masl). The objectives were to obtain inbred lines from ten accessions of maize and 45 F1 hybrids direct form between them. The production of the inbred lines was only possible with eight accessions; accession 35 from San Pedro de la Sierra to 1397 (masl) did not flourish under conditions of Santa Marta and the accession 91 from Foundation to 62 (masl) it flourished but this did not form grains. Accessions 34 and 90 produced little seed accession unlike 92 it which was abundant. Overall development of the ears produced by selfing was poor and low grain formation. The amount of seed was different between F1 crosses; only four accessions: 3202, 88, 89 and 92 had the ability to cross and produce hybrid seed, unlike accessions 34, 35 and 91 showed poor adaptation and inability to cross.
