This article proposes a possible methodological approach to discourse studies of the press from the theoretical framework of critical discourse analysis. The object of study is constituted by representations built by argentine newspapers about political scandal. After considering some of the major methodological proposals that considered representatives of this critical approach, it is specified the road of this research taking into account its objectives and characteristics of the object of study. The proposed methodology has allowed us to clarify relationships between discursive categories and broader sociocultural characteristics to build certain representations of the scandal
