In volume 29, No. 1 of 2017, REVISTA FACULTAD DE ODONTOLOGÍA UNIVERSIDAD DE ANTIOQUIA published the article "The learning environment at a public university in Northern Chile: How is dental education perceived by students?" (DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17533/udea.rfo.v29n1a2) by José Pablo Tisi Lanchares, Luis Barrios Piñeiro, Ismael Henríquez Gutiérrez, and Gerardo Durán Ojeda.¹

Some readers claimed that the authors allegedly failed to comply with the institution’s Ethics Committee approval and that there were no informed consents signed by the students who participated in the surveys used as part of the research project.

The authors were then asked to provide the documentation on a fixed time limit, but it was not released by the due date; therefore, we are expressing our concern about the authors’ noncompliance with the ethical requirements in relation to the published results. The Journal will wait until the publication of the next issue (30-1 of 2019) for the authors to provide the required documentation, under penalty of retracting the article.
