The purpose of this research article was to identify and analyze the presence of and contributions from Freire's construct regarding Physical Education in the two major periodicals in the field which publish pedagogical research. The bibliographical review compiled 42 articles, published between 2010 and 2020, which include the works of Paulo Freire in the refenences, two of them directly discuss the Freirean legacy to the teaching of the component and one of them analyzes how the author's work has been studied by the academic community of Physical Education. The number of authors involved and their qualifications and the position they occupy indicate the potential comprehensiveness and influence of Freire's thinking on Physical Education. Results converge with other studies conducted about the up-to-dateness and importance of the author and reveal ways for further studies.
