The genus Telmatometra (Gerridae: Trepobatinae) is distributed in the neotropical region and contains seven species described until the moment. In the present paper we describe and illustrate a new species from the pacific region of Colombia. Telmatometra vallecaucana sp. nov. differs from other species of the genus by the color of body, shape of the abdomen, by having a keel on the anterior edge of sternite VIII, and shape of paramere. Finally, a key for the species of the genus found in the country are also presented as well as new records of T. panamensis and T. whitei.
