Resumen
STUBRIN, Lucía. Contributions to the study of latin america's biologic avant-garde. Nómadas [online]. 2014, n.40, pp.131-143. ISSN 0121-7550.
This article seeks to understand the purpose of Bio-art from its main characteristics, which exemplify a transdisciplinary approach to the production of art works. In doing so, it considers the place of art in regard to the widening of the traditional boundaries that separate it from science and in its relationship with the historic concept of avantgarde. It states that, if the neo avant-garde impelled the effect of the avant-garde of expanding the relationship between art and life, the Bio-art updates a new relationship with the concept of life by introducing new techniques that intervene in its creation and development.
