GIEDELMANN, Mónica Johanna y JAIMES ALVARADO, Laura. SEPULCHRAL SLABS LIKE HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS IN BUCARAMANGA'S UNIVERSAL CEMETERY, COLOMBIA. Anu.hist.reg.front. [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.1, pp.193-218. ISSN 0122-2066.
This article explores the relation between alive and dead men in hundred years of existence of the Universal Cemetery in Bucaramanga (1910-2010). The accomplishment of quantitative and qualitative analyses of the sepulchral slabs, and the ballots of exhumation, they identified the significant presence of religious iconography and messages associated with the incorporation of the deceased in beyond, with unexpected results for a lay churchyard. Additional, the deep worry was demonstrated by the significance experienced by the kinsmen linked to this churchyard, and of which they left testimony in the material funereal culture.
