This work characterizes the meat supply chain in a global and domestic context, with an emphasis on the Colombian case. The methodology follows the line used in previous work in agroindustrial chains that seek to describe the context of operation of the chain, the agents, their roles and interactions, among other relevant aspects. The work identifies problems and proposes solutions and aims to facilitate the decision making of stakeholders. It is concluded that the problems of the supply chain are associated with organizational problems, research and development, and promotion of the market, the work of measures for the improvement of the sector.
