ARTEAGA AGUILAR, Marco Antonio; AYALA ARCIPRESTE, María Esther  y  MARQUEZ, Ricardo Isaac. Community Land Management, Social Participation and Land Use: Experiences from the Southeast of México. Perspectiva Geográfica [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.2, pp.289-308.  Epub 04-Jun-2024. ISSN 0123-3769.

Community Land Management is a tool for land use planning implemented in Mexico in recent years in order to increase the productivity of forested regions in the country, reverse deforestation and improve the living conditions of rural communities. Based on the authors' experience in participatory community planning for land use conducted in three ejido communities in southeastern Mexico, this paper examines the implications of land management on the sustainable use of forest resources, product diversificaron and increasing local capabilities. It is concluded that Community Land Management is a window of opportunities for the communities to manage participatory development and do so autonomously. However, it is required to generate conditions that encourage and facilitate the participation of local agents in the management and monitoring land use.

Palabras clave : community; sustainability; land use.
