Eating behaviors can increase the risk of internalized symptoms. The main objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between internalized symptoms and the risk of eating disorders in adolescents in the city of Sincelejo-Sucre, Colombia. This research is quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional. It was attended by 791 individuals from 10 educational institutions in the city of Sincelejo-Sucre. Three instruments were used: one that evaluates eating attitudes and the possible presence of eating disorders, one that measures symptoms of anxiety and another that measures symptoms of depression. The results found in this study show that 32.7% of the participating sample are at risk of suffering from eating disorders; the presence of depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms were significantly higher in participants at risk of ASD, except for social anxiety; no significant differences were found between the female and male sex.
