ZAIATZ CRESTANI, Andrei Mikhail  y  MARTINS DE ARAUJO KLEIN, Regina Maria. Space, Image and Memory: Consolidation of Collective Contents over the Materiality of the City. Territ. Abstract The socio-spatial relations that provide urban space with a content, print out meanings through time and become materially dense. Over time, the tangible and intangible relations build the urban landscape, attaching collective memories to spatial addresses in a city. This research argues about the collective's meanings and memories, exploring how those can be recognized in urban spaces, and what the role of urban managers and the population in this process is. The methodological approach used was a case study considering "Largo da Ordem" as the research object, which takes an important place in the network of symbolic spaces in Curitiba, Brazil. The methodology is based on literature review, including the last 50 years of media reports related to this place as well as images registered and published by the population in 2015. The overall objective was to establish a parallel between the images historically enhanced by managers actions and its abidance (or not) on contemporary collective appropriation.

Palabras clave : Socio-spatial relations; collective memory; cultural heritage; collective appropriation; urban management.
