This article argues that the coronavirus is the result of excessive human pressure on the biosphere, and that the effects of the pandemic it has caused in the world have been aggravated by policy recommendations derived from conventional economic thought, whose advocates - to keep their paradigm safe - will argue, just as in the 2008 financial crisis, that the current health crisis was not predictable.
