Recently, in addition to the focus of macro-economic policy, the pursuit of urban and regional energy security is aimed at achieving energy self-sufficiency by organizations and private and public institutions. In this sense, is it possible to achieve energy self-sufficiency with sustainable alternatives? In particular, if energy security is breached, or if the costs of the electricity bill are undermining the optimal functioning of enterprises and institutions, are there any technologically affordable options to optimize the organizational operation microenterprise level? The purpose of this work lies in referring organizational efforts that are enabling technological innovations in the modus operandi, an urban and regional scale in Mexico.
