This article aims to make an ethical approach to the practice of cesarean section, considering that while it is the duty of the doctors to respect the autonomy of their patients, it is also their duty to guide them through the benefits and risks of any their decisions. The principles of bioethics of the professional health let us make an assessment of medical practice, paying special attention to the decision to choose rationally, a cesarean section instead a vaginal delivery.
