CARO, Pamela; SARACOSTTI, Mahia; KINKEAD, Ana  y  GRAU, María O.. Childhood and adulthood. Dialogues about tensions in the areas of family, work and care. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.1, pp.267-279. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.1511629032016.

This article analyses a range of perceptions of Chilean children compared to those of their mothers regarding tensions and strategies to articulate family life and work. An analysis is conducted based on the structure of the relationship between subjects. This study addresses the emerging findings from interviews with children and adults, establishing a comparison of the perspectives regarding tension, care, time and well-being. The results show that there is a widespread perception among children and their mothers that having a job causes more stress for mothers than fathers, because they have an increased overall workload. Mothers recognized that the main balance to achieve is to fulfil both roles adequately. For these perspectives, children have less conservative positions in comparison to those reflected in adults' stereotypes.

Palabras clave : Children; family; social interaction; worker woman.
