LISIAS-OLIVEIRA, Noory y RAMOS-OLIVEIRA, Diana. Cognitive stimulation motor in public kindergartens in the South and Northeast of Brazil. Rev. Guillermo Ockham [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.2, pp.15-22. Epub 02-Ago-2021. ISSN 1794-192X. https://doi.org/10.21500/22563202.3151.
This paper is a literature review on insertion and contribution of physical therapy in the daycare environment. The objective of this study is to investigate how the physical therapists have addressed the need of early stimulation for motor and cognitive development to children in daycare centers. Fourteen articles were analyzed published between 2005-2015 and recovered in Scielo and Google Scholar databases with the descriptors: Brazil daycare, South and Northeast regions daycare, motor delay in public daycare centers, physiotherapy intervention in public daycare centers. The results showed that the inclusion of daycare centers in the educational system is already established. However, the discussion about the inclusion of physiotherapy in the daycare setting still appears to be incipient. This article offers a reflection about the gap that can be filled by the physical therapy in academic work, which can add up efforts to prevent secondary motor and cognitive delays.
