Sexting refers to the reception, sending and/or forwarding of photos, videos and/or text messages of erotic-sexual content through the telephone and/or virtual media. This study is proposed with the objective of determining if the variables related to sex, sentimental situation, religious beliefs and level of instruction are determinants in the attitudes, behaviors and consequences of sexting identify the attitudes, behaviors and consequences of sexting in students University of Nuevo León and Jalisco. Through a quantitative methodology and simple random sampling, a sample of 610 students from the Bachelor of Social Work at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and the University of Guadalajara was analyzed. The results reveal that 79.5% carry out passive sexting and 53.6% carry out active sexting; likewise, 27.9% declare that they receive duress, 10.8% blackmail and 4% mockery. Based on these results, it is considered necessary to propose preventive measures from the educational and community level.
