This paper reviews the representations of the folkloric figure of Trickster and the Greek figure of Mễtis as dialogic images and transcultural, two-sided symbols linked to a capable cunning intelligence and its abili ty to deconstruct common representations and create paradoxes that promote knowledge. Several texts and intercultural milestones are proposed as case studies.
